Vernal pools are important ecosystems that fly under the radar when it comes to conservation efforts. Vernal Pool Patrol is a community science project that contributes information to Michigan Natural Features Inventory, through MSU Extensions, to gain a deeper understanding of Michigan’s vernal pools and how to manage them. This field day will provide hands-on experience identifying traits of vernal pools, identifying plants and animals, and collecting and submitting data.
