In 2022 and 2023, the Oxbow Archaeologists conducted salvage excavations at the Badour Gate site prior to construction of CNC's Nature Education Center. These excavations produced evidence of people living at CNC and utilizing resources along an ancient channel of the Chippewa river 10,000 years ago. Guest speaker and UofM Archaeologist, Dr. Scott Beld will describe the excavations and material recovered from the site and relate it to the history and changes in the landscape at Chippewa Nature Center over time.
The event will take place in the Visitor Center.
