By requesting to schedule your event at Chippewa Nature Center, you are acknowledging that you have read and will abide by these rental rules.

Planning for Your Event

  • Tables and Chairs - CNC will provide tables and chairs and will set them up according to the agreed upon arrangement. Renters are welcome to rearrange tables and chairs within their rental space. Any tables or chairs set up outside of the rental space (hallways, atrium, etc.) must be approved by CNC staff.
  • Sharing the facility - Keep in mind that CNC is open to the public. The building is open until 5:00pm and the grounds are open until dark. Because we are open to the public, you will encounter other users in the building and surrounding areas.
  • Decorations – Decorations require approval in advance by the rental coordinator and may not be attached to any surface. No nails, staples or tape may be used on any surfaces, tables, chairs, or other items. No glitter, confetti, bird seed, bubbles, flower petals, etc. may be used. You may not release butterflies, birds, or balloons indoors or outdoors. Candles are not permitted (except for a reasonable number on birthday cakes). Smoke machines are not permitted.
  • Music and AV - The sounds level of activities must be kept moderate in consideration of other visitors. Offensive language is music or speech is not permitted. Limited AV equipment may be available. Any use of AV equipment must be arranged in advance with the rental coordinator for an additional fee.
  • Kitchen - The kitchen may only be used for catering events or reheating of food prepared offsite. Health Department regulations prohibit food preparation in this area unless a permit is obtained from the Health Department. The caterer/renter must clean the kitchen. The kitchen area and counter spaces must be cleared of materials, refrigerator and oven cleared of food matter, spills cleaned up and floors swept.
  • Photos - Photos may be taken during your rental. Photography activities may not impede the experience of other visitors in any way. The alteration or removal of plant or natural material to facilitate photos is prohibited.

  • Trash and recycling - Place trash and recycling in appropriate receptacles in the rental space. Please encourage your guests to recycle.
