With its mixture of trees, shrubs and open spaces, a cemetery offers excellent habitat for many migrating bird species. And for centuries, people have been inspired by nature in the quiet, reflective setting of the final resting place. Join Manager of Historical Programs and veteran birder Kyle Bagnall on the most unusual birding trip of the year! We’ll visit several local cemeteries in search of migrating birds and other wildlife. We’ll also investigate nature symbolism carved on many historic headstones.
