All teachers are invited to explore vernal pools with Educator Victoria Zablocki. Vernal pools appear each spring as the snow melts and rains fall. These special wetlands are home to many aquatic invertebrates such as fairy shrimp, cyclops, sideswimmers and many more. They become important links in food chains that include frogs, toads and some birds. We'll use dippers, nets, pans and identification guides and learn why we should protect these vanishing wooded wetlands

"Teacher’s Night in Nature" provides teachers with a personal experience in nature while enjoying social and educational time with other teachers. We’ll head outside for our main activity (so dress for the weather!), then conclude with light refreshments.
