Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) is proud to partner with Delta Public Broadcasting to host an advanced screening of RARE – Creatures of the Photo Ark on Tues, June 20 at 7 pm at CNC. This 1-hour edited version of a three part documentary series will air on PBS on July 18, July 25 and Aug 1. National Geographic contributing photographer Joel Sartore is documenting every captive mammal, fish, amphibian, bird, reptile and insect species in the world, many of which are endangered or on the verge of becoming extinct.

Sartore knows he is in a race against time. Sometimes he is able to photograph 30 to 40 species in a few days. Others are disappearing before he can get to them. RARE looks at factors driving extinction, including deforestation, rising sea levels, invasive species, pollution and human development, all impacting creatures essential to the world’s ecosystems.
