2017 Herb of the Year with speaker Susan Betz

Susan Betz has been working with community and school gardening programs for the past thirty years. She owned The Little Farm Herb Shop, a garden store specializing in herb gardening and crafting in Allen, Michigan for over ten years. She has been actively involved with the Michigan Master Garden program since 1981. Susan served as the first MG coordinator for Hillsdale County before leaving to work at Slayton Arboretum as Education and Outreach Coordinator. She is now pursuing her interests in freelance garden writing and lecturing. Susan is a charter member and past president of the Michigan Herb Associates, and currently writes the Children s Corner, a column for The Michigan Herb Journal. She has been an ac...tive member of The Herb Society of America for 25 years and served as Education Chair from 2006 thru 2009. She is member of the International Herb Association and the Garden Writers Association. Susan is a frequent invited speaker at horticultural conferences, workshops and herb symposiums throughout Michigan and the U.S. She lives in Jonesville, Michigan where she enjoys gardening and writing about native plants and herbs
