The open farm fields of Michigan’s Thumb area resemble the arctic tundra summer habitats of Snowy Owls. During the past few winters, several owls have been spotted and we hope to find them again this year. Travel by 15-passenger van with experienced birders Michelle Fournier and Jeanne Henderson in search of Snowy Owls. We may also see Rough-legged hawks, Horned Larks, Snow Buntings or American Tree Sparrows. Bring your own lunch, binoculars, field guide, and clothes for the weather. We will have spotting scopes to share and loaner binoculars available. Most of the time will be spent driving or standing outside the van, but we’ll also include a few short walks.
